基本会話
Bob and Cathy have met for the first time. They are in a park.
（ボブとキャッシーは初対面です。彼らはある公園にいます。）
Bob: Hi, (1) I'm Bob. (2) I teach English in Yokohama. Please
introduce yourself.
（キャッシー）：（こんにちは）（ボブといいます）（横浜で英語を教えています）（自己紹介をして下さい）
Cathy: All right. My name is Cathy Brown. I have been here for three years.
（キャッシー）：（いいですよ）（名前はキャッシー・ブラウンです）（ここに３年おります）
Cathy: (3) There are three people in our family; father, mother,
and myself.
（キャッシー）：（私と父と母の三人家族です）
Cathy: (4) We're from Auckland in New Zealand.
（キャッシー）：（私たちはニュージーランドのオークランド出身です）
Bob: Oh, are you? I've been there once. It's a beautiful country.
（ボブ）：（ああ、そうですか）（一度、行ったこがあります）（美しい国ですね）
練習（A） 上の中から４つの重要な表現を取り出して練習しましょう。

練習（B）基本会話の下線部の表現を次のように言い換えて練習しましょう。
1. My name is Bob.

2. I work fro a trading company. （商社に勉めております）
I'm a housewife. （主婦です）
3. We're a family of three.
We're a family of four; husband, two children, and myself. （私と主人と二人の子供の四人家族です）
4. We come from Auckland in New Zealand.
I'm from Uji in Kyoto. （京都府の宇治市から来ました）

Cathy introduces Bob to Nancy, her roommate. They are at a party in
Cathy's home.

Cathy: (1) Nancy, this is Bob. He studies at Sophia University
in Tokyo.
（キャッシー）：（ナンシー、こちらはボブです）（東京の上智大学で勉強しています）
Cathy: Bob, this is Nancy. (2 She likes listening to music.
（キャッシー）：（ボブ、こちらはナンシーです）（音楽を聞くことが好きです）
Bob: (3) It's nice to meet you, Nancy. I have two tickets for a
concert tonight.
（ボブ）：（お目にかかれてうれしいです）（今晩のコンサートのチケットが二枚あるんです）
Bob: (4) Would you like to go out with me?
（ボブ）：（僕とデートしてくださいますか）
Nancy: Thank you so much, Bob. I'll be glad to.
（ナンシー）：（どうもありがとうございます）（よろこんで）
